Ya'at'eeh Everyone!
This week was great! The weekend of the fourth, we were able to get Heston and Isaiah interviewed for baptism, so this whole week we've been looking forward to that :) There was a get to know you Zone Conference with President Adams on Tuesday, which was really great :) I'm super pumped to be working more with President and Sister Adams! After Zone Conference, I went on exhanges to Monument Valley, with the brand new Elder, Elder Hill. He's about 6'5". (I'm 5'6", so it was a great little contrast). It was super weird not being the least experienced for once. We got to teach a couple of really great people, chop quite a bit of chizh (firewood), siphon water into tanks (there are quite a few people in the deeper rez that have no running water; they get friends of theirs to load it up into a tank in the back of their truck, then siphon that out of the truck into 50 gallon barrels for the week), and train each other during comp study :) They live in a little RV outside of the church that makes our place seem HUGE! Wednesday, we get a call from Kayenta--the tire went completely flat! (we were still using the spare, while waiting to get the first one replaced), so we had to end the exchange early and drive back to use Monument Valley's spare.
Thursday, we went down to Tuba City to get both fixed and replaced, then went back and taught a couple of great people :) Oh! Thursday, that night, for some reason, I felt like we realllly needed to go to Burger King. Super weird right? So we follow the prompting, and as we're ordering, the manager comes up to us and is like, here's my address, I'm free on Sundays and Mondays, come and teach me. We talked with him more on Sunday, and I've never met someone out here so prepared for the Gospel! So we're super pumped to get to talk with him more this coming weekend :)
OH! Heston and Isaiah got baptized Saturday! I ended up writing the program for them, coordinating everything, etc.. It was super stressful, but it ended up going super well! The spirit they felt as they made promises with God was incredible :) There's no greater work than this, getting to see people change their lives for the better as they come unto Christ.
Ok, out of time this week....
Hagonet! Elder Kraus
